Here are some photos of band activities.

Here we see band members who played Christmas Carols in Ilfracombe High Street on Saturday 21st December 2019

A band is not just for Christmas......

so why not join us in the 2020 new year ?

At the "Pip and Jim's" church in Ilfracombe they recently held a Christmas tree festival, with trees decorated by various local groups on view.
This is a picture of the tree from Blazing Sounds band.
On Remembrance Sunday 2019 our bandmaster, Emma, once again had the honour of laying a wreath from the band at the Ilfracombe War Memorial.
It was very good to see ex-band member Paul Moulton there playing the 'The Last Post' and 'Reveille' on the trumpet.
On Monday 11th It was our bandmaster, Emma's turn to play 'The Last Post' and 'Reveille' at the annual Royal British Legion Ilfracombe Branch Children's Armistice Service at Holy Trinity Church, Ilfracombe at 11 am on Monday 11th November. It was a lovely occasion with all three Ilfracombe schools represented.
In February 2019 the band   took part in the Ilfracombe Lions Swimarathon event. Our team of six young people swam a total of 94 lengths in the 50 minutes time limit. Here we see one of the swimmers making a splash. The team raised £250 in sponsorship, half of which will be shared out by the Lions to other local charities and half will be returned to the band to aid our own funds as we are also a charity. We are very proud of the team's efforts and grateful for all our generous sponsors.

Here is bandmaster Emma taking part in the Lions Swimarathon in February 2017. The Blazing Sounds team swam 107 lengths of the Ilfracombe pool, raising £270 in sponsorship money. Half goes to the Lions charities, half to the band. Well done, team !
And here we see the reward for the swimmers' efforts when the Lions came to a band rehearsal in May to present the band with their cheque. Congratulations, team !

This was the first time that two members of our training band (pictured left) had played in a public performance with the band.
And here is the band in a similar performance two years earlier  20th December 2014.
