Play in Band Performances.

Music played by a live band, in the open air in the English summer, is a wonderful experience both for the musicians and the audience.

Although originally formed as a marching band, the majority of our performances these days are static.  During the year 2011 the band played in these events:-

  •        in the RNLI Fete at Ilfracombe Lifeboat Station on 23rd April;
  •       three Sunday afternoon performances on the Ilfracombe bandstand;
  •       eight Thursday evening performances on the Ilfracombe bandstand;
  •         at Ilfracombe harbour on 22nd July to welcome ashore the passengers from the cruise ship Prinsendam;
  •       at the Tyspane care home, Braunton on 26th November for their Christmas Fair;
  •    Christmas carols in Ilfracombe High Street on Saturday 17th December.

In a non-musical event, band members swam in the Ilfracombe Lions charity fund-raising "Swimarathon" at the Ilfracombe swimming pool.

Calling for New Members:- By joining the band now, you will have plenty of time to "settle in" during the winter and spring rehearsal period, and be ready to take part in the 2012 performance season.
